OUR AMBITION :

The Students Section (SS) of IET Hong Kong Branch has been set up in October 1995 in order to assist the YMS to organize functions for engineering students in Hong Kong. The committee members comprise any engineering discipline students from 5 universities (HKU, UST, CUHK, POLYU and CITYU).

MISSIONS :

To introduce and promote IET and IET's activities to students.
To facilitate the exchange of information and ideas between students and IET.
To provide students with information on engineering profession.
To assist students in developing their careers.
To improve students?? capabilities as engineers.


ACHIEVEMENTS :

The Students Section (SS) has organized various events such as career talks, technical visits, seminars, and training workshops to broaden engineering students?? horizons in real working environment so that they are equipped with the practical and relevant skills for their careers. Through the events, SS arouses students?? attention to the IET and promotes the professional image of the IET. Take Technical Visit to Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car on 29th January 2011, SS received over 100 applicants. All in all, the effort of SS plays an utmost important role for the IET Hong Kong.

FUTURE :

The Students Section (SS) is devoted to organizing different types of activities. For instance, Mentorship Programme is under consideration. Then, SS wishes to co-organize activities with distinct engineering societies and departments of universities. Lastly, SS hopes to involve more students from different engineering disciplines in being SS committees.
