BACKGROUND
The Younger Members Section in Hong Kong is the first overseas Younger Members Section for the Institution of Engineering and Technology. It was formed in 1991 and the establishment of it is due to the understanding of that:

The Institution of Engineering and Technology Hong Kong hopes the Younger Members Section to provide young engineers with an opportunity to organize their own soc y, and at the same time, to serve their peers.

STUDENT AFFAIRS
The Younger Members Section has organized a Student Section in order to assist the Younger Members Section to introduce the Institution of Engineering and Technology to the students in Hong Kong.

ACTIVITIES IN DETAIL
Paper Contest and Project Competition
We invite companies having project development to nominate their staffs to join the event. Through this function, participants have the opportunity to share their outstanding projects with people from other companies. In 2002/2003 session, we combine Paper Contest and Project competition together as a Younger Members Section Contest.

Technical Talk and Visit
Every year, we organise a wide variety of technical talks/seminars as well as visits for our young members. Through this function, we not only serve our young members for their professional development in various aspects, but also widen their horizons.

The Institution of Engineering and Technology & Student
Through this function, we hope to develop a closer relationship with students in the institutions of Hong Kong. We have organized a student section which could assist us to organize this function more effectively and more successfully.

Newsletter
Our committees contribute their articles to the Institution of Engineering and Technology monthly newsletter in an attempt to enrich the young members through regular channel.

Others
We organize different kinds of activities, for example, paper contest, membership drive, ways to chartership, etc.
